Welcome to Making Being

A newsletter about design, culture and technology.

In this space, we will explore the relationship between design, culture and technology.

Each month, I will publish a provocation to kick start our conversation. With mutual-learning as this community’s core value, diversity of thought and dialogue are encouraged.

I also strive towards interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary learning. This means, whether you come from the sciences, social sciences, humanities and beyond, you and your ways of knowing are welcome here.

I welcome topics of discussion for our conversations, and will keep track of these through the comments. With that, thank you so much for being here! I look forward to publishing the first provocation later this month. In the mean time, introduce yourself in the comments if you feel inclined.

A little bit about myself:

I am a Canadian-Pakistani PhD student in Communication, New Media and Cultural Studies. My research intersects cultural studies of design and information design practice broadly. I am interested in exploring, critiquing, celebrating, problematizing and revealing ways of making and being that render cultural consequence in the context of information technology design.

Outside of academic life, I enjoy writing and reading for leisure, as well as being in nature and food.

With love,

Natasha
